It seems that you don’t have or in your tc-config.xml you can't start a server with the eclipse plugin.

org.terracotta.dso.TcPlugin.launchServer(IJavaProject, String, String, Server, IProgressMonitor) (lines 459-460) are the culprit it seems

workaround is to explicitly define those elements

Verified with terracotta-eclipse-plugin-3.5.1, can start the tc-server without any issue.

created tc-config.xml using Add Terracotta nature: ?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”UTF-8”?>
